A Day in Milwaukee

Updated: Jul 11, 2020

My husband and I drove from Chicago to explore the nearby city! Milwaukee is known for their breweries, cheese, festivals and baseball. Here is my one-day itinerary for Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Start your trip by brunching at Sweet Diner for classic dishes. The restaurant is cute and food is delicious!

Walk through Black Cat Alley with 21 beautiful and unique murals. The murals change from time to time, and there is something for everyone!

After, go to the nearby beautiful lighthouse, North Point. Climb to the top between 1p-4p and look at the beautiful lake view from above. Walk along the park and take in the stunning views.

Milwaukee is known for their breweries, even if you don’t like beer (like me!) they are still so much fun to explore! Miller Brewery and Lakefront Brewery are two great ones to choose from.

Depending how you feel, walk around Milwaukee Public Market which has so many options ranging from fresh fish to delicate desserts. Also, you have to try fried cheese curds while you’re in Milwaukee!

For dinner check out Blu Milwaukee and take in the panoramic view of the city. Or eat at the amazing historic Pfister Hotel and look at the gorgeous lobby and art. The beautiful hotel has been around for more than 125 years.

At the end of the day, we stopped for custard before our drive back to Chicago at Leon’s. Leon’s has been around since 1942 and it still looks the same! I enjoyed the butter pecan custard and my husband liked the chocolate.

I'm so glad we took our day trip to this beautiful city! I look forward to returning soon to visit Fink's, Villa Terrace Decorative Art Museum and St. Josaphat Basilica.

Thanks for stopping by! Let me know your favorite place in Milwaukee! 😊
